Robert Hunt, a young man, is transported back to 600 A.D. to become King Arthur's adviser and brother. He is renamed Merlin and marries, and has a child, but tragedy follows in wars with settlers.
Merlin is moved to 1200 and must transform Robin Hood into a hero. He returns to Camelot six hundred years later, where King Richard the Lionheart appears.
The two stories become linked emotionally, with Friar Tuck assisting. King Arthur knew Merlin would return and left a tribe of guards to guard Camelot's treasures.
The book is full of history, love, friendship, humor, and war, and is the first in a series of four, where Merlin is transported through history to World War II.
